So I’ve always had a thing for thrift stores because I believe that you can find some amazing hidden treasures in them. I like to imagine the history behind the item, who might have been the owner, when did they buy it, etc…. I’m kind of a hopeless romantic.
I also love designer clothing, but I’m not one to buy things that are «on trend»… I’m not saying that I don’t sometimes fall for a trend, because I definitely do. If it looks good on me and I like it, I’ll buy it… (if I can afford it). but I tend to go more for the weird, one of a kind version of that trend or even change it up a bit to make it my own.
I have been loving two trends at the moment: 1) the Gucci belt and 2) Vintage jeans. I had been eyeing some thrift and vintage stores in Miami and I thought that those were the perfect places to go looking for these items without spending too much money on them.
I bought the jeans at the Red White and Blue Thrift Stores, which is a huge place where you can find incredible items but you have to have a lot of patience to shop at. I went straight to the men’s jean section because I knew that I wanted them to be a men’s style jean and a bit big on me. After searching for a while – because they have a huge section of jeans – I found these Wrangler jeans for just $3.95! They where a bit long on me so I cut the hems a little uneven and a bit shorter than usual.
I knew that for the belt I was going to have to spend a bit more money. I wanted it to be a real Gucci belt that I could keep and maybe pass on to my daughter (when I have one), but I didn’t want the belt to be the one that everyone was wearing (you know which one it is…). So I went to several vintage stores where I could have spent hours and hours just admiring the amazing pieces they had! I fell in love with this Gucci belt with a heart as a buckle that I found in Fly Boutique. I had honestly never seen it before and I thought it went perfectly with my style.
I’m definitely going to hit up more vintage stores in the future.
I’m going to do another post with tips on how to shop vintage and thrift stores.

Love the belt – vintage stores are awesome for finding one-of-a-kind pieces like this, it’s a nice way to get the transd on a budget too. I just wish I had more time for thrifting, it’s not something that’s easy to get with two toddlers!
Hope you have a lovely weekend ahead 🙂
