I forgot to mention in my previous post that we were spending our Christmas vacations in Puerto Rico (oops). On December 24h we decided to stroll through the Old San Juan to explore the city and its historic places.
As soon as you enter San Juan you feel that you’re leaving Puerto Rico and teleporting yourself to another time in history. The place is characterized by its castles and great walls, known as fortresses, which defended the city against pirate attacks; and for its cobblestone streets and colonial buildings. The apartments or premises can be modernized on the inside, but they have to maintain their historic facade. You can find lots of restaurants, plazas, churches, museums, little hotels, and stores full of color and people. I was impressed by the amount of beautiful trees and flowers that surround the town and how well maintained it is.
We truly enjoyed and amazing pre-Christmas day walking on the cobblestone streets and amazing ourselves with each little corner and the beautiful ocean views.
