Women tend to have the bad habit of never being satisfied with their appearances. We always find some defect even where there isn’t one. We are not happy with our legs, that we don’t have six-packs on our stomachs, that our arms are not defined, etc., etc. Even though I’ve never been self-conscious about my height (or lack there of), I did have insecurities about my body; I was really shy about someone seeing my body – I didn’t like wearing sleeveless shirts or short dresses.
As you grow up, concerning yourself about your appearance becomes less important, and more crucial things become priorities. During this process, you learn to love yourself and to be happy with what you have, or you also learn that you can work (by eating healthy and excercising) to have the body that you feel comfortable in. The most important thing is to be happy and to exude that happiness.
«You are imperfect.
Permanently and inevitably flawed.
And you are beautiful.»
– Amy Bloom.
